The ruins of the Schauenberg are the ruins of a hilltop castle 892 m above sea level. M. on the hill of the same name above Elgg in the canton of Zurich.

Auf dem Gipfel des Schauenbergs liegen die Überreste eines mittelalterlichen Wohnturms aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Während des Dreissigjährigen Krieges diente der Ort als Hochwacht. Wer den Gipfel erklimmt, wird mit einer grossartigen Sicht auf das Umland bis zu den Alpen belohnt. Eine Panoramatafel ist vorhanden. Es ist die höchst gelegene Ruine im Umkreis von Winterthur.

Grillplatz: Ein grosser Grillplatz mit Rost und Bank ist vorhanden, daneben gibt es noch eine kleine Feuerstelle.

On the summit of the Schauenberg are the remains of a medieval residential tower from the 13th century. During the Thirty Years War the place served as a high watch. Those who climb the summit are rewarded with a great view of the surrounding area as far as the Alps. A panorama board is available. It is the highest ruin in the Winterthur area.

Barbecue area: There is a large barbecue area with a grate and bench, and there is also a small fireplace.
