Stadt St. Gallen

City of Sankt Gallen, not only the monastery library, OLMA, children's festival and grilled sausage

Most tourists come to St. Gallen to see the baroque collegiate church from the 18th century. This includes a visit to the abbey library with its old manuscripts.

The city of St. Gallen is known for its many bay windows. In the old town alone there are over a hundred of these additions to houses. They have been used since the Middle Ages to enlarge the living space and improve lighting on the upper floors. The St. Gallen bay windows are often very elaborately designed and decorated, because they should also represent the wealth of the citizens who live there.

Another attraction, the city lounge, often referred to as the Red Square, is an artistically designed outdoor space, most of which is located on Raiffeisenplatz.
