Auf halber Höhe des Gamserrugg oder Gamser Rugg, ein Berg im Toggenburg im Kanton St. Gallen, liegt die Gamsalp. Auf 1'770 Meter über Meer thront die Gamsalp mit fantastischem Ausblick ins Rheintal und über das Toggenburg.

Das Berggasthaus Gamsalp bietet eine einmalig schöne Weitsicht ins Rheintal und auf das beeindruckende Alpsteingebirge mit dem Wildhauser Schafberg und dem Ostschweizer Hausberg, dem Säntis. Das Berggasthaus läd für Jung und Alt zum Verweilen ein. Die Menuekarte ist umfangreich und es werden gute Weine angeboten.

Der Geologische Rundweg umrundet den Gamserrugg von der Gamseralp aus und informiert an 14 Stationen über die Bedeutung der lokalen Geologie.

Halfway up the Gamserrugg or Gamser Rugg, a mountain in Toggenburg in the canton of St. Gallen, lies the Gamsalp. The Gamsalp towers at 1'770 meters above sea level with a fantastic view of the Rhine Valley and the Toggenburg.

The Berggasthaus Gamsalp offers a uniquely beautiful view of the Rhine Valley and the impressive Alpstein Mountains with the Wildhauser Schafberg and Eastern Switzerland's local mountain, the Säntis. The mountain inn invites young and old to linger. The menu is extensive and good wines are offered.

The geological circular route circles the Gamserrugg from the Gamseralp and provides information about the importance of local geology at 14 stations.
