Bettmerhorn

Das Bettmerhorn liegt am südlichen Ende des Bettmergrats, welcher vom Hauptgipfel des Gebietes, dem Eggishorn, her nach Süd-Südwest verläuft. Der Grat, dessen höchste Stelle 2871 Meter über Meer misst, fällt im Westen zum Aletschgletscher und im Osten zur Bettmeralp beziehungsweise zum Rhonetal ab.

Betten Talstation, Bettmeralp und ein rund 15-minütiger Fussmarsch durch das Dorf zur Gondelbahn auf das Bettmerhorn sind die Stationen auf dem Weg zum Bettmerhorn welches man auf der Südseite des Gipfels eine Höhe von 2647 M.ü.M. erreicht.

Den eigentlichen Gipfel erreicht man von der Station aus über ein Wandersteig mit Holztreppen in etwa 20 Minuten. Vom Gipfel führt der 2004 angelegte UNESCO-Höhenweg geübte Bergwanderer (Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit erforderlich) über den Grat bis zum Eggishorn.

Für Spaziergänger ist es möglich, an der Westflanke des Gipfels entlang den Aletschgletscher zu sehen. Die Aussichtsterrasse und der Weg dorthin sind rollstuhlgängig. Falls du Hunger oder Durst verspürst, kannst du dich im gemütlichen Panorama-Restaurant Bettmerhorn stärken. In der Bergstation gibt es eine Multimedia-Ausstellung zum Aletschgletscher.
