Stadt Frauenfeld

 

Frauenfeld die Thurgauer Hauptstadt liegt im Westen des Kantons und bietet mehr als nur OpenAir, Motocross und Pferderennen. 

Die verkehrsberuhigte Altstadt mit Gesandtschaftshäusern aus dem 18. Jahrhundert befindet sich oberhalb des Bahnhofs. Hier über der Murg stehen das Schloss Frauenfeld und das Rathaus nebeneinander.

In der Innenstadt finden sich weitere markante geschichtsträchtige Gebäude wie die Baliere am Kreuzplatz und das Bernerhaus am Bankplatz.

More than just open air, motocross and horse racing

Frauenfeld, the capital of Thurgau, is in the west of the canton. Their charming surroundings invite you to go hiking and cycling.

The traffic-calmed old town with embassy houses from the 18th century is located above the train station. Here above the Murg, the Frauenfeld Castle and the town hall stand side by side.

In the city center there are other distinctive buildings steeped in history such as the Baliere on Kreuzplatz and the Bernerhaus on Bankplatz.

In der südlichen Häuserzeile der Altstadt befindet sich die reformierte Stadtkirche, im Stil der Neuen Sachlichkeit, mit einer Metzler-Orgel von 1985 sowie einem 1930 von Augusto Giacometti gestalteten Chorfenster. Im Kirchenraum der 1906 errichteten katholischen Kirche St. Nikolaus finden sich Altar-Wandbilder von Karl Manninger sowie ebenfalls eine Metzler-Orgel.

Frauenfelder Sehenswürdigkeiten

Neben dem altehrwürdigen Schloss, der gepflegten Altstadt, dem Plättli Zoo und dem Stählibuckturm, ist auch der unterirdische Kreisel am Bahnhof ein Wahrzeichen der Stadt.

In the southern row of houses in the old town is the Reformed town church, in the New Objectivity style, with a Metzler organ from 1985 and a choir window designed by Augusto Giacometti in 1930. In the interior of the Catholic Church of St. Nikolaus, built in 1906, there are altar murals by Karl Manninger and a Metzler organ.
